Why This Project?

UNM is implementing a single, modern, timekeeping system—UKG Pro Workforce Management (UKG WFM)— to replace the current systems (LoboTime and Banner Time Entry).  This upgrade will streamline timekeeping for all faculty, staff, and students across all campuses, improve accuracy, and enhance the user experience.  

UNM currently uses multiple separate systems to track employee time. Managing these systems across multiple campuses has created challenges with efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.  

By Transitioning to UKG WFM, UNM will: 

  1. Streamline Operations: Replace multiple systems with one central platform. 
  2. Increase accuracy: Automate processes to reduce errors and improve HR Policy and payroll compliance. 
  3. Enhance Accessibility: Provide an intuitive, mobile-friendly interface for all users.  
  4. Modernize: Implement a modern system that will be supported and scalable for years to come.  

This project aligns with UNM 2040 Goal 5, Objective 2: To identify and implement process improvement with the goal of reducing the amount of time managing administrative processes across the various University administrative offices.
