Welcome!

The University of New Mexico is taking a significant step toward modernizing its processes with the development of a unified timekeeping system. This initiative is a collaborative effort between Human Resources, Financial Services, and UNM IT to simplify how employee work hours and leave requests are tracked and managed across all campuses, including Main, Branch, and Health Sciences.

This project supports UNM’s 2040 Strategic Plan, Goal #5: One University, by streamlining processes, integrating systems, and delivering better service to employees and departments.

Currently, UNM relies on multiple, outdated systems that don’t integrate well, including:

  • LoboTime - Formerly Kronos/Workforce Central, a web-based tool used by about 25% of employees.
  • Banner Time Entry - A manual process where hours are recorded on forms and entered into Banner by department staff.

These systems are inefficient and don’t work well together. Additionally, LoboTime will no longer be supported by the vendor after 2025, making an upgrade essential.

By transitioning to UKG Pro Workforce Management (UKG WFM), UNM will replace these outdated systems with a single, modern platform that improves accuracy, reduces manual work, and streamlines timekeeping processes for employees and departments across the university.
